Bruce Leslie, MD recently performed his 400th distal biceps tendon repair, making this the largest number of such procedures ever performed by a single surgeon worldwide. Distal biceps tendon ruptures are an increasingly-recognized cause of severe pain in the front of the elbow. This injury usually occurs in physically active individuals and leads to significant loss of function in the arm if left untreated.
A scientific article published in 2000 by Dr. Leslie describes the surgical procedure and postoperative rehabilitation protocol. Thanks to Dr. Leslie and the other surgeons at NWOA, hundreds of patients with this severe injury have been able to return to physically active and productive lives.
