Sarah Larch, PA-C Returns from Medical Relief Mission in Haiti

NWOA Physician Assistant Sarah Larch participated in a medical relief mission in Chantal, Haiti, from November 8-14, 2011. The medical mission provided basic surgical, medical, and dental services to the population of Chantal and the surrounding communities. Chantal is a rural community located approximately 250 miles southwest of Port-Au-Prince (click here to see a map).  Prior to the earthquake it was a rural town of approximately 1500 people who made a living from subsistence farming. Since the earthquake of January 12, 2010, the population of Chantal and the surrounding areas has swelled to over 8,000 refugees, many still lacking access to basic medical care.

NWOA Physician Alfred Hanmer also participated in a medical relief mission to Haiti in 2010. Read about it here.
