Dr. Messina is a graduate of the University of Maryland and a 1993 graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his orthopedic training at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Messina served as Team Physician for the University of Maine Division I Ice Hockey and Football programs. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. His interests include Sports Medicine, Joint Reconstruction and Fracture Care.
