Daniel K. Banaszek, M.D.

Dr. Daniel K. Banaszek is a native of Newton, MA, where he attended Newton North High School. He received his Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree, as well as his Medical Doctorate and Surgical Master’s (MD.CM) degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, where he served as chief resident and team physician for the Varsity Football and Rugby teams. He then completed his fellowship training in both Orthopedic Trauma and Combined Neurosurgical/Orthopedic Spine Surgery at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He is a member of the Orthopedic Trauma Association (OTA), North American Spine Society (NASS), and Canadian Spine Society (CSS).
In addition, he completed a Master’s in Health Science (MHSc.) in clinical epidemiology at UBC. His current research interests include Patient Safety and Outcomes Research, as well as the public health impact of worldwide trauma and spine care. He has extensively published in peer-reviewed journals and is the recipient of multiple clinical, teaching, and research awards. He currently serves as faculty at Tufts University School of Medicine, where he is involved in the teaching of orthopedic residents. His personal interests include Boston sports, football, tennis, golf, and traveling with his wife and two children.
