Dr. Hanmer is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in total hip and total knee replacement surgery performing over 300 procedures a year. He has an added specialization in hip arthroscopy and joint preservation procedures. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, a member of the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Hanmer specializes in all aspects of hip and knee arthritis using the most advanced techniques in diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Hanmer also has expertise in hip arthroscopic techniques. He has over 10 years experience in the treatment of hip labral tears and femoral acetabular impingement. He is experienced in labral repair and labral reconstruction.
Dr. Hanmer also performs fast track outpatient total joint replacement and has partnered with Lighthouse Surgical Suites to provide a safe, personalized and individually tailored joint replacement experience.
Dr. Hanmer participates avidly in exercise and enjoys running, biking, swimming, and skiing. He has participated in triathlon training and racing for over 35 years and was a race director for a successful sprint triathlon for over 10 years. He has skied for 50 years and enjoys cross country, telemark, and downhill skiing. He continues to improve his golf game. He understands athletes and those who want to remain active.
