Dr. Leung completed his medical education at Northwestern University and a residency in orthopedic surgery at Tufts Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in upper extremity surgery at the NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases and was a visiting clinician at the Mayo Clinic and the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York where he was further trained in complex elbow surgery. He is double board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and Hand Surgery. He is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Leung holds the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Tufts University School of Medicine and participates in the selection and training of young orthopedic surgeons, with whom he continues to conduct and publish research in orthopedic surgery. He was awarded the 2021 Tufts Orthopedic Residency Faculty Teaching Award. Since 2017, Dr. Leung has been named as one of “Boston’s Top Docs” by Boston Magazine every year. Dr. Leung currently serves as the Assistant Chief of the Division of Hand Surgery at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, where he has been on staff since 2010. During this time, he has also served terms as the Medical Director of the Outpatient Surgery Center, as a member of the Executive Committee of the Medical Staff, and volunteered his time on multiple committees of the NWH Physician Hospital Organization.
Dr. Leung treats all adult and pediatric problems of the hand, wrist, and elbow, with a special interest in complex elbow fractures, elbow arthroscopy, and reconstructive surgery of the elbow. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and three children.
